Best Ab Exercises

Getting a good figure is what almost everybody desires. Abs are one of the muscles that people generally try to tone. Most people try to get perfect abs by performing leg raises and crunches. It might surprise you to know that these exercises, though traditional, don’t give the best results given the energy spent on them. The reason for this is that while performing these exercises, one focuses only on the abs and not on the other important muscle groups. Since one only focuses on one target, less calories get burn, and so not much fat does, too.

Thus, the best ab exercises are those that train one’s abdominal muscles, and at the same time work on their entire physique. Such exercises will, while speeding up the body’s metabolism, also provide one with the sort of six pack abs and flat stomach that they desire. Increasing the body’s metabolic rate results in more fat being burnt. Needless to say, this is very important.

Once a person has set the goal in their mind, the next thing they have to do is customise their abdominal workout. Generally, to obtain a flat stomach and to make one’s waist stronger, it is suggested that one perform many repetitions. This would allow them to tone their muscles for high endurance. However, to get the popular six-pack and bulging muscles in the abdomen, one would need to perform more challenging exercises. The best ab exercises are generally those that you find difficult to repeat more than ten or fifteen times.

There are many such exercises, but the three best ab exercises are listed below:

1. Med Ball Slams
2. Tuck Jumps
3. Renegade Rows

Med Ball Slams
This routine begins by the person standing with their feet stretched apart. The medicine ball is then held and rapidly raised over one’s head. It is then launched to the ground forcefully. This process is very similar to swinging the mallet at a game in a carnival. As soon as the ball bounces, it must be caught whilst bending forward. This process is repeated.

Tuck Jumps
Begin this routine with your feet spread apart a hips width. Now very fast, bend down by about eight inches as if sitting on a chair. Then suddenly jump as high as possible, making sure that the knees are curled to the chest. The upper body must be kept straight and the head facing upwards, along with the chest. This must now be repeated in rapid succession.

Renegade Rows
This routine, unlike the other two, requires that one be in a push-up position. Kettle-balls or a pair of weights should be held on to, while in this position. While keeping the body straight, one must enlarge their abs without letting their hips drop. Now shift the weight to one of your arms and slide the other weight towards the respective hip. Repeat this for the other side.

These are by far the best ab exercises, since they are train the full body and thus are much more effective that regular workouts for the abs. If these exercises are executed properly, along with a few other dietary tips, a person could very well get the coveted figure they desire.
